Leo joined the library team as Archivist in April 2015. Born into a very large and very musical family in southwest Detroit, Leo attended Wayne State University, where he received a B.A. in Philosophy with a Minor in History, a Graduate Certificate in Archival Administration, and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science. He recently completed the creation of a new archive for Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, and has done consulting work for the archives of the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona. Leo spent many years in the commercial recording industry as an audio engineer, and he has produced, recorded, played electric bass and been the lead singer for a number of bands in the Metro Detroit area. In addition to his involvement in the progressive rock music scene, he is a passionate lover of classical music, with his favorite composer being Hector Berlioz. He is also an aficianado of vinyl records, and with over 600 albums he has one of the world’s largest collections of the Symphonie Fantastique on vinyl.
